This precise servo control milling machine is designed for milling the outside oxidation layer of the casting shell before it starts the planetary rolling operation.There are two cutters on the milling machine, each cutter will mill 60 degrees off the outside surface, after three passes of milling operation, the whole outside surface will be milled by about 0.5 mm. The depth of
milling can be adjusted by a precise system driven by an electrical servo motor.
The milling cutters are installed on sliders supported by servo controlled hydraulic cylinders, which allow the cutters to dynamically follow the casting shell shape.
Compared with the rotary milling method, the mother tube surface after servo control milling is more stable and smoother; potentially offering a higher comprehensive yield for finished products.
